1960
Shilba began its journey in a small optical atelier in the surrounding area of Osaka, Japan, where the foundations of its reputation for quality and precision were laid.
1975
A group of technicians from Angel Baraldo traveled from Argentina to Japan in search of developing a riflescope with an excellent price–quality ratio, designed for the commercial hunting of hares, a plague species with high export demand in the German market.
1975
The first two basic models, 4x32 and 4x40, were an immediate success: the 2,000 units from that initial batch sold out in less than 60 days, driven purely by user recommendations.
The success of these models was due to their excellent clarity, precision, and affordable price compared to American and European alternatives. This led not only to increased sales, but also to the development of new models and their adoption in sport shooting.
1981
A few years later, in 1981, due to age and with no heirs, the owner of that small Japanese factory decided to retire. He sold his brand, Shilba, along with his expertise and contacts to the current owners, marking a new beginning for the brand.
Its high-quality optics began to be applied to an increasingly broad range within its product portfolio, adding binoculars, spotting scopes, and astronomical telescopes.
2000
With growing demand, Shilba's production soon exceeded local demand in Argentina. In 2000, the brand took a key step in its regional expansion by beginning to export to neighboring Latin American countries.
2004
In 2004, after developing a complete line of riflescopes, Shilba began marketing its products in Spain. With a strong hunting tradition, the country quickly embraced the brand, becoming one of its main markets and a key distribution hub for other European countries.
Present
Today, every new market Shilba enters welcomes the brand with strong acceptance. Its high manufacturing quality, solid balance between price and performance, and full product warranty position it as a smart and reliable choice.
